Biography
Rebecca R. Vanderpool is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at The Ohio State University. Dr. Vanderpool received her undergraduate degree and her PhD from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She has been a member of the American Thoracic Society and is currently a member of the Program Committee and chair of the Early Career Working Group Committee. She is also a member of the American Heart Association Council on Cardiopulmonary, Critical Care, Perioperative and Resuscitation (3CPR). In the 3CPR council, Dr. Vanderpool is a member of the Nominating & Awards Committee as well as the Early Career Committee. Dr. Vanderpool’s research focuses on three areas: 1) Clinical assessment of the pathophysiology of right ventricular function, 2) Imaging (MRI and CT) based assessments of right ventricle and pulmonary vascular structure and 3) Exercise testing to investigate effect of pulmonary vascular disease on exercise physiology.
